A Bit About Me
I have more than twenty years of team lead experience managing helpdesks and physical / virtual servers. I’ve built many enterprise solutions from the ground up while managing them from the top down using Microsoft System Center CB (Intune), Microsoft Azure SaaS and PaaS, PowerShell, HP iLo, Dell iDRAC, EMC Unishpere, Symantec Enterprise Vault, VMWare ESX(i) & Workstation Player, Hyper-V, Oracle VirtualBox, and XEN.
Work Experience
May 2019 - June 2023
September 2018 - April 2019
December 2017 - June 2018
Loyola Press, Chicago, IL – Systems Administrator / Security Engineer
I’ve Migrated On-Prem Services to the Datacenter and Cloud Storage, rebuilt the entire network stack twice due to advanced threats, and built relationships with companies that specialized in Advanced Threat Protection. I managed printers, applications, system changes, and scripts for Apple iDevices via Jamf, and Windows Workstations via Microsoft’s Intune. I’ve also designed a fully redundant server stack in our new hosting center and am managing my organization’s vendor access to Apple Business Manager, Verizon, Adobe, Dropbox, iTarian, M365, Jamf, and Veeam.
Stratosphere Networks (CCS), Evanston, IL – Technical Account Lead
I designed, implemented, and maintained cloud and on-prem line of business applications across servers and workstations for multiple clients. In addition to implementing technologies like Single-Tenant, Multi-Forest Azure Active Directory with Cloud VPN to Server 2019, I built Operating System templates for Hyper-V & VMWare, and assisted colleagues with day-to-day troubleshooting of workstation and servers. Other responsibilities included managing and providing status reports on projects, working with customers to strategize business needs, approving onboarding processes, and hardware lifecycle management.
Guggenheim Partners Downtown Chicago
via The Forum Group in NY, NY

The assignment was to resolve the issues Guggenheim was having trying to implement System Center's Operating System Deployment Task Sequences in Production. I successfully resolved all issues related to operating system deployment, and setup Ivanti Patch for SCCM 2012 r2 which now allows the company to automatically remediate the security vulnerabilities of any Third-Party Applications the organization has agreed to support on server systems. I also used PowerShell to create templates for Azure tasks, and reviewed code that would kick off task sequences to build servers from a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server user page. Other responsibilities included manually building out VMWare Images to create application server templates and troubleshooting issues with VMWare Virtual Machines after Patch Tuesday.
June 2011 - July 2017
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Itasca, IL – Systems Operations Engineer
Aided in the management of 33,000 physical and virtual servers across four hosting centers strategically placed around the world. Tasks related to server management included design and deployment of bare-metal golden images and templates to both Hyper-V and VMware hosts. I was also responsible for setting up the virtualization operating systems (VMWare and Hyper-V) and bringing the hosts online once compliance’s requirements had been met. In addition, I maintained my physical hardware in the hosting center when required, performed performance monitoring, troubleshooting applications, and replacing components. I used PowerShell cmdlets, Server Manager, Active Directory, and Exchange Management (EMC 2010) to manage and deploy accounts, groups, and mailboxes across the organization.
Other tasks included managing acquisition projects which involved working weekends to seamlessly migrate newly acquired networks, workstations, security structure, mailboxes, data, and applications to new hardware on a different domain with minimal downtime. Deployed device and security policies to optimize network performance and keep a clean infrastructure. Completed server refresh projects which included moving applications (in-house and SaaS) to new hardware and operating systems with best practices in mind. Managed Cisco phone profiles, Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes, Lotus Notes Portals, Salesforce.com, and Microsoft SharePoint Sites for multiple offices. Used multiple methods to secure data on the network, including NTFS ACLs managed by AD Security Groups. Additional responsibilities included SOX compliance, developing infrastructure design documentation, maintenance of physical and virtual hosting center servers, and asset management.
